Lhoknga Beach

Administratively, Lampuuk Beach is located in Lhoknga Subdistrict, so it is actually somewhat ambiguous to distinguish between Lampuuk Beach and Lhoknga Beach. However, generally the people there gave the designation 'Pantai Lhoknga' to the area behind Lhoknga Golf Course to the waterfront park after the Andalas Cement Plant Complex.

The designation of Lampuuk Beach is devoted to the coastal section that stretches from Babah One to Babah Empat. Although the position of the two beaches is close together, both of them have their respective advantages.

If now Lampuuk beach is identical to Banana Boat recreation and its culinary fish, then Lhoknga Beach is better known for its Golf course, Surfing and fishing activities. Especially for surfing, the large and fierce waves of Lhoknga Beach have been famous among the international surfing community.

Generally, surfers know there are two different types of waves in certain months in Lampuuk. June to November when the West wind season is famous for its beach breaks, while in December to May when the east wind blows is famous for the reef break.

Surfers also know there are five wave points that can be climbed by surfers in Lampuuk. The first is 'Left Hander Point', which is the left wave which is 300 meters from the beach which is perfect for those who are new to surfing.

Second is 'Cemara Right Point', the right wave is about 300 meters from the beach. These two points are favorite spots for surfers from Sakura Japan.

Next, 'Peak Point' is the right and left waves which are 300 meters from the beach. Strong currents make surfers more careful here.

A local surfer who died when the 2004 Tsunami named Suri was immortalized became the name of the fourth point, namely 'Suri Point' which is 200 meters from the beach. During his life, Suri was a specialist at this point. Finally, 'Out Side Right Hander' is the right wave which is 500 meters from the beach which has strong and dangerous currents.

The beach with a distance of approximately 22 kilometers from Banda Aceh is also a good spot to enjoy the sunset. The afternoon atmosphere in Lhoknga feels more quiet and peaceful.
