Almost every beach in Aceh has a charming charm. Well, one of the beaches that has an interesting charm is Lhok Mee Beach. Lhok Mee Beach which is famous for its white sand beaches and trees in water is located in Lamreh Village, Mesjid Raya District, Aceh Besar District, Aceh.

Most beaches in Aceh Besar look beautiful with rows of trees, so the Lhok Mee White Sand Beach is a little different, because we can see the beauty of trees that grow lined up on the surface of the sea. Residents there call the tree Geurumbang. There are also mangrove roots towering on the edge of the beach. The sea water there can tide instantly. When the sea water is installed, the white beach sand blends color with clear blue sea water. However, when the sea water recedes. The mangrove roots had appeared one by one like a spearhead which was plugged in just like that.

This geurumbang tree grows at a height of about 1-2 meters. So you can climb this tree, and don't forget to bring a fishing rod, because fishing and sitting on this tree has its own sensation. Another characteristic of Lhok Mee Beach is that it has a smooth stretch of white sand and follows a straight line of beach. You can swim while enjoying the ocean waves. As for snorkeling lovers, of course you can enjoy the beauty of coral reefs on a beautiful beach.

This beach is a very photogenic tourist location. Because of its beauty, this location is often a place for brides' wedding photos. Putroe Phang Garden

Putroe Phang Park (Putri Pahang Park) was built during the reign of Sultan Iskandar Muda (1607-1636). Sultan Iskandar Muda built the Putroe Phang Park for his Empress, Putri Pahang. Historically, Princess Pahang always felt homesick for her hometown, Pahang, Malaysia. The Sultan, who knew of his queen's longing, then built this sari garden, shaped like the hills found in Pahang. Originally Putri Pahang or in the Aceh Putroe Phang language named Putri Kamaliah. But the Acehnese called him Putroe Phang (Putri Pahang).

Not only beautiful, but he is also a smart woman. He is an advisor to her husband in the government. As seen in the motto that is widely known in social life. He also made laws regarding the protection of children and women. This law was later translated and realized by his daughter, Ratu Safiatuddin so that in Aceh Besar and Aceh Pidie, inheritance law was not only based on Islamic law, but also influenced by customary law. For example, by parents, homes are always inherited to girls. Maybe this is what led to the emergence of the term "Porumoh" (homeowner) for wives in Acehnese society.

The beauty and splendor of the Aceh Sultanate can be depicted in the description of Bustan as-Salatin "Shahdan, on the land of the Golden Hall which has Balee Ceureumeen (Balai Cermin) in its magnificent palace, inside the palace there is Maligai Nature Mercu, and Maligai Daulat Khana and Maligai Cita Sensation and the Khayali Field, and the flow of the Dar al-Isyki river is too vast, the grit is rather than the pelinggam stone, with a very broad Khairani Medan. And in the middle of the field, the G Mountains of the Jewel of Permata, the pillars of copper, and the roof of silver, like the scales of sago palm, are inside a number of variegated gems from Sulaimani and Yamani. "
The original condition of the palace complex can only be traced from the records of foreign envoys based on the testimony of the delegation of the Kingdom of France, the Dalam Darud Dunya Palace Complex (the Sultanate of Aceh palace) covering an area of more than 2 square kilometers.

This Pintoe Khop measuring 2 x 3 x 3 meters was once the gate that connects the palace to Taman Sari Gunongan (formerly called Taman Ghairah). Pintoe Khop is also called Pintu Biram Indrabangsa which means "the door of pearls of intimacy or kings".
Gunongan means "small mountain" and is a miniature hill that surrounds the kingdom of Putroe Phang in Pahang. Deliberately built so that Putroe Phang is not always sad because he remembers the Pahang Kingdom.

The days of the Empress were mostly spent around Gunongan. With his ladies in waiting, he loved to climb this Gunongan building. Aside from being a place to mingle, it was also used as a place for Putroe Phang to change clothes and dry his hair after swimming in the bathing pool.

Next to Gunongan, there is a building called Cage. The shape is rectangular. There is an entrance like an iron fence door that is bigger than the entrance to Gunongan. In the past, Kandang was a banquet place for Sultan Iskandar Muda and Putroe Phang with palace people, as well as the people.

The former bridge is now only the pillars that stand firmly at the mouth of the Lamnyong River, or the Alue Naga Beach estuary. This beach is also used by many people for fishing.

Even not far from the beach, the surrounding community opened a business field by selling live shrimp to anglers who would fish in this area.

The distance to get to the beach is not far, only about 10 KM from the center of Banda Aceh City, and only 3 Km from the Darussalam Campus. Every afternoon this beach is visited by many residents of Banda Aceh, especially young people who release fatigue from lecture activities.

Enjoying the sunset becomes an amazing thing. Among the dusk violet implied on the clouds, depicting enchanting beauty. Of course this should be grateful, because this beauty can calm the heart of a man who is tired.

Enjoying the dusk violet coupled with the charm of the sunset, while sitting looking at the breakwater stone, giving a distinct impression for everyone. Impression that illustrates how beautiful God's creation must be grateful for.

Lhoknga Beach

Administratively, Lampuuk Beach is located in Lhoknga Subdistrict, so it is actually somewhat ambiguous to distinguish between Lampuuk Beach and Lhoknga Beach. However, generally the people there gave the designation 'Pantai Lhoknga' to the area behind Lhoknga Golf Course to the waterfront park after the Andalas Cement Plant Complex.

The designation of Lampuuk Beach is devoted to the coastal section that stretches from Babah One to Babah Empat. Although the position of the two beaches is close together, both of them have their respective advantages.

If now Lampuuk beach is identical to Banana Boat recreation and its culinary fish, then Lhoknga Beach is better known for its Golf course, Surfing and fishing activities. Especially for surfing, the large and fierce waves of Lhoknga Beach have been famous among the international surfing community.

Generally, surfers know there are two different types of waves in certain months in Lampuuk. June to November when the West wind season is famous for its beach breaks, while in December to May when the east wind blows is famous for the reef break.

Surfers also know there are five wave points that can be climbed by surfers in Lampuuk. The first is 'Left Hander Point', which is the left wave which is 300 meters from the beach which is perfect for those who are new to surfing.

Second is 'Cemara Right Point', the right wave is about 300 meters from the beach. These two points are favorite spots for surfers from Sakura Japan.

Next, 'Peak Point' is the right and left waves which are 300 meters from the beach. Strong currents make surfers more careful here.

A local surfer who died when the 2004 Tsunami named Suri was immortalized became the name of the fourth point, namely 'Suri Point' which is 200 meters from the beach. During his life, Suri was a specialist at this point. Finally, 'Out Side Right Hander' is the right wave which is 500 meters from the beach which has strong and dangerous currents.

The beach with a distance of approximately 22 kilometers from Banda Aceh is also a good spot to enjoy the sunset. The afternoon atmosphere in Lhoknga feels more quiet and peaceful.

Lampuuk Beach

Lampuuk Beach Tourism That Has Recovered from Tsunami Trauma
Home Tourism Nangroe Aceh Darussalam
Lampuuk Beach is one of the prima donna of Aceh Besar before the 2004 tsunami. The beach is always crowded with visitors, from Banda Aceh, Melaboh, or other areas. With white sand and shady pine trees, this place is an ideal place to relieve fatigue.

At the time of the tsunami, the coast, which is approximately 15 kilometers from Banda Aceh, included those that suffered severe damage. Hotels on the beach and the surrounding settlements were destroyed by big waves.

More than half of the population of Lampuuk died in the disaster. Trauma to tsunami threat makes people reluctant to come to this beach, in addition to the large number of fallen pine trees and debris left over by the tsunami. This had made the beach closed for tourism activities.

However, the beach gradually recovered. About a year after the tsunami, tourism activities on this beach were again crowded. In the rehabilitation and reconstruction process after the tsunami, the management of Lampuuk Beach was integrated with several other tourism objects in Aceh, such as Pulau Weh, Danau Laut Tawar, and the Takengon Plateau.

This has a positive effect on the effort to restore the image of Lampuuk Beach as a star of Aceh tourism. Not only local tourists, many NGO activists and foreign volunteers who stopped by for beach trips, especially surfing, also helped boost the popularity of this beach. At present, the Lampuuk Beach tour can be said to have recovered as before the tsunami.

There are four entry points that visitors can go to to different coastal segments, namely Babah Satu, Babah Dua, Babah Tiga, and Babah Empat. Each entrance is named sequentially according to its position, from the southernmost to the northernmost.

The path that many local visitors go through is Babah Satu and Babah Dua. Foreign tourists usually come from the Babah Tiga line. This location is usually used for surfing or just relaxing enjoying a summer vacation.

Along with the improvements made, this beach has also been equipped with various tourism facilities, such as banana boats. For visitors who want to spend the night, there are also various accommodations from classrooms to cottages that vary according to the desired service and facilities.

In addition, on the beach side, visitors who want to fill their stomach can also easily find seafood menu vendors. These stalls offer a variety of grilled fish dishes, such as rambe fish, grouper, pomfret, shrimp, squid, and others. This delicious grilled seafood is suitable as a dish when gathering with family or friends. More complete equipped with fresh young coconut ice.

Other activities that can be done when visiting this beach are visiting turtle conservation. Located in Babah Dua, turtle conservation can be a vehicle for educating children about environmental conservation.

Although mass activities around turtle conservation are only carried out at certain times, visitors can find a number of hatchlings or turtle children that are accommodated in a small pond on one side of this area. These hatchlings will be released into the sea when they are considered to be able to survive in the wild.

History of Baiturrahman Grand Mosque

The grand mosque, which is a symbol of the religiosity, courage and nationalism of the Acehnese people, was first built during the reign of Sultan Iskandar Muda in 1606-1636. In addition to being designated as a place of worship, this grand mosque was also built with the aim of being a center for religious education in the archipelago at that time. When there were so many students coming from various parts of the archipelago, even from Arabia, Turkey, India and Persia who came to Aceh to study religion, it was not wrong if the province that had become a special region was given the nickname as the city of the Veranda of Mecca.

Around 1873 the Baiturrahman Great Mosque was used as the Aceh people's defense headquarters during the war with the Dutch. When the Dutch attacked the capital city of Banda Aceh, this mosque was burned by Dutch troops. At that time, Maj. Gen. Khihler was shot dead in the forehead by Acehnese troops in the courtyard of this grand mosque. To commemorate this event, a small monument was built in front of the left of the mosque, precisely under the Ketapang tree.

After six years later, to quell the anger of the Acehnese because of the burning of this grand mosque, the Dutch through Governor General Van Lansnerge rebuilt the Grand Mosque by laying its first stone in 1879. Until now the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque has undergone five renovations and expansion of the area.

When the tsunami struck Aceh on December 26, 2004, this grand mosque became one of the places to save the people of Banda Aceh. At that time the tsunami flood just reached the top of the stairs of the oldest mosque in Aceh.
